The current condition of this fan tells a lot of stories, most specifically about how I didn't take the best care of this fan due to my curiosity. This Arisa pedestal fan was a gift from my parents for some achievement I made. I believe I first saw this fan at a family friend's electronic store, and I was immediately drawn to the 8 translucent green blades & fully plastic construction. This fan was actually the very first pedestal fan in my collection! I don't think I made any videos of this fan when it was brand new, because it was years before I had my channel. The first video of this fan showed it with black 8 wing blades. That was actually a layer of paint sprayed over the translucent green blades. Something which I deeply regret because I believe the translucent green bladeset was discontinued shortly afterwards. I also made plenty of videos showing this fan running with different grilles and blades, and many more off camera experiments with the sole purpose of making this fan perform better, as this fan isn't really that good at moving air. At some point of this fan's life, when I still somewhat cared about it, I purchased a brand new bladeset from Arisa, and that's the blade that you see on this fan in this video. However, I then lent this fan to my parents for their shop for a few years, and that's when this fan really started to fall apart. For one, I lost the pipe extensions for the height adjustment. Then there's the oscillator which got a bit stripped out, plus some of the switch's plastic buttons crumbled for whatever reason.
Looking back at it, I believe this was the first "Kipas Estetik" or Aesthetic Fan to ever hit our market. "Kipas Estetik" is a term that Indonesians like to use to refer to fans that they think have South Korean style. The design criteria usually include a sleek plastic grille, more than 4 fan blades, and a monochrome colour. I personally think that term is only a marketing term to disguise an otherwise cheaply made fan that usually performs terribly.
I do have some regrets for how poorly I treated this fan, but I'm also very happy because this fan allowed me to unleash my creativity & try many different blade & grille configurations to see what works best in terms of airflow, and those are memories that I'm certain will be with me for the rest of my life. In regards to this fan, I parted it out right after filming, and I only saved the motor & fan blade (which FYI, I still have the original black painted blade, plus a translucent blue blade I got from a scrapyard).
