Metroid Fusion Was Metroid's Future...Like It Or Not

Now that we've all had our chance to take a look at the story of Metroid Fusion for ourselves, let's get into some real detail about this game's story, and how its unique style essentially dictated the way that stories in the Metroid series would go for the next twenty-five years. ...Yeah, I'm serious. Metroid Fusion was a much more important game than you suspect. It's come in for its fair share of criticism over the years, but the one thing Nintendo has shown itself totally reluctant to do is stop recycling concepts and themes from this game. It's kind of like the Galactic Federation refusing to accept the extinction of Metroids and being obsessed with weaponizing X Parasites! Oh wait, I forgot, that was a "rogue faction" of the GF according to official canon.
