Backpacking in Deerfield Nature Park in Mount Pleasant, MI with Pickles in the freezing cold!!

Pickles and I travelled to Mount Pleasant, MI for a quick overnight backpacking trip at the Deerfield Nature Park. After getting turned around a couple of time, we ended up hiking just over 4 miles to Beaver Lodge Campground. We spent the night as temperatures dropped to around 20°F and hike about a mile back to the car. We had an absolutely wonderful time, enjoying a nice fire, a nice meal and of course, fantastic company. Highly recommend, especially for a beginning backpacker or to test out new gear!
