The Real Reason Hitler Never Invaded Portugal
______
In 1940, Hitler’s armies reached the Spanish border. Beyond it lay Portugal: small, weak, and allied to Britain by the oldest treaty in the world. Hitler had invaded nearly every neutral country in his path, yet not one German army ever crossed into Portugal. Why?
______
I started this channel because I kept reading about famous events and finding that the real explanation was hiding in the footnotes. Often it came down to a shipyard schedule, a treasury projection, a supply line, or a man too proud to meet a junior officer. The textbook version is usually true as far as it goes. It just doesn't go far enough.
Every video here takes one event you think you know and digs into what actually drove it. I try to be honest about where the evidence is solid and where historians still disagree. If you spot something I got wrong, tell me in the comments. This audience knows its history, and I'd rather be corrected than comfortable.
If that sounds like your kind of history, you're in the right place.
