Samuel - Above the Noise: God's Plan for Samuel--In what is traditionally a Mothers Day sermon, we see Samuel's mom, who has been unable to have children, crying out to God for a son. She pledges him to God if she will grant her request. God hears her and Samuel is conceived. Her prayer moves the hand of God. This also sets the tone for Samuel's life. He is called by God, but this calling predates his birth. It even predates his conception. He is set apart from the beginning. This story sets up the life of Samuel, a man who is called by God and he boldly follows that call.
