Over the last 30 years, 61 powerful typhoons hit Luzon. The Visayas took 12. The whole of Mindanao got just 3.
In this video, we count down 8 Philippine towns where typhoons and volcanoes rarely reach. No place in the Philippines is completely safe, so for every town we also show the risk most people miss: flooding. You'll see which neighborhoods the government's flood map rates high, where you'd want to rent instead, and what each town offers in hospitals, rent and everyday life.
Towns in this video:
Tagum, Panabo, Aborlan, Narra, Brooke's Point, Davao City, Samal Island, and the town at number one.
Before you sign any lease, check the exact address on the government's free hazard map, HazardHunterPH.
Which of these eight would you choose? Tell me in the comments.
Hazard ratings, rent and hospital details can change, so always check locally before you make plans. This video is for general information only.
