How do you fix military neck or cervical kyphosis? Military neck describes a straightening of the normal cervical spine curve, while cervical kyphosis occurs when that curve reverses direction. Correcting abnormal cervical alignment may require more than exercises or adjustments alone. Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) uses a three-part approach involving Mirror Image exercises, adjustments, and traction to help improve cervical alignment. Cervical kyphosis may be associated with neck pain, stiffness, headaches, shoulder tension, and reduced mobility. In some cases, altered spinal alignment may change how mechanical loads are distributed through the cervical vertebrae and discs, potentially contributing to degenerative changes over time. A normal cervical spine has a forward curve called cervical lordosis. Loss of cervical lordosis, straightening of the cervical spine, and cervical kyphosis describe different patterns of altered neck alignment. The Chiropractic BioPhysics approach uses three corrective methods: Mirror Image exercises to address abnormal posture, Mirror Image adjustments to address spinal alignment and joint mechanics, and Mirror Image traction to apply sustained corrective forces. Treatment is guided by measured spinal alignment, and structural improvement may depend on the individual's condition and response to care. IN THIS VIDEO, YOU WILL LEARN: How military neck, loss of cervical lordosis, and cervical kyphosis differ and how abnormal neck alignment may affect spinal function. Why cervical kyphosis exercises and traditional chiropractic adjustments alone may not be sufficient to restore the cervical curve. How the three-step Chiropractic BioPhysics approach uses Mirror Image exercises, adjustments, and cervical traction, including in-office traction and the cervical Denneroll. Dr. Marc Dupuis is a corrective care chiropractor in Sanford, Maine. Frequently Asked Questions 1. What is the difference between military neck and cervical kyphosis? Military neck typically describes straightening of the normal cervical curve, while cervical kyphosis refers to a reversal of that curve. 2. What symptoms are associated with cervical kyphosis? Cervical kyphosis may be associated with neck pain, stiffness, headaches, shoulder tension, reduced neck mobility, and, in some cases, arm pain or neurological symptoms. 3. Are cervical kyphosis exercises enough to restore the neck curve? Exercises may improve muscle strength, posture, and neck function, but exercises alone may not be sufficient to produce measurable structural changes in cervical alignment. 4. What is the Chiropractic BioPhysics approach to military neck correction? Chiropractic BioPhysics uses Mirror Image exercises, Mirror Image adjustments, and Mirror Image traction as part of a structural rehabilitation approach intended to improve abnormal spinal alignment. 5. What is cervical traction used for in cervical kyphosis treatment? Cervical traction applies sustained forces to the neck as part of a corrective rehabilitation program. Chiropractic BioPhysics uses in-office traction and may incorporate a cervical Denneroll for home use to support the intended alignment correction. | Dr. Marc Dupuis Corrective Care Chiropractor at Back to Health Chiropractic PC in Sanford Maine 04073. https://bthconline.com. 207-324-7098.   / backtohealthchiropracticpc  .   / dupuischiro  .
