Driving From West Glacier to East Glacier - 3 Stops Along Highway 2

Drive with us from West Glacier toward the east side of Glacier National Park along scenic US Highway 2 in Montana. Along the way, we make three interesting roadside stops that are easy to add to a Glacier National Park itinerary. Our stops include Goat Lick Overlook, where a short path leads to views above the Middle Fork of the Flathead River; Marias Pass, located on the Continental Divide and home to the Roosevelt Memorial Obelisk; and a Blackfeet Nation interpretive stop where we learn more about the history of St. Mary, Montana. Although Highway 2 does not replace the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road experience, it offers another scenic way to travel between the west and east sides of the Glacier region—with mountain scenery, history, and worthwhile places to pause along the route.
