But there’s another side to this story that buyers AND sellers need to know: Those same issues are now affecting condo financing. When lenders review a condo community, they aren’t just looking at the buyer. They’re also evaluating the HOA — its reserves, budget, insurance coverage, assessments and overall financial health. And right now, some communities simply aren’t meeting traditional lending requirements. That can mean: ➡️ No conventional financing ➡️ No FHA or VA financing ➡️ Larger down payment requirements ➡️ Higher interest rates through alternative/non-QM financing But here’s the important part: IT'S ON A PROBLEM IF YOU DON'T HAVE A STRATEGY.
