Where in America do truckers fill the tank and keep driving, and are they right? My wife and I found out on Highway 50, when a trucker in Fallon, Nevada told us not to stop till Ely, and she told me she’d never gone two hundred and fifty miles without stopping in her life. In this video I take you through ten places we stopped or drove through: Baker, California; Bogalusa, Louisiana; Centralia, Pennsylvania; Picher, Oklahoma; Bessemer, Alabama; Rachel, Nevada; Miami, Arizona; Glenrio, Texas; Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and Austin, Nevada. For each place I tell you why the truckers skip it, what houses and rent cost nearby when I looked, how far you’d drive to a hospital, and whether I’d live there. Some are ghost towns, one is still burning underground, and one of them taught us more in three days than most towns did in three months. A trucker’s advice is made for a trucker.
