I saw Heaven Through the Windshield of my Truck

The highway stretched out dark and long, The radio hummed a quiet song, When the storm broke up and the dark gave way To a sudden burst of golden day. The amber sun cut through the gray, Chasing the midnight clouds away, And right right there, on Route 65, I felt so blessed to be alive. I saw heaven through the windshield of my truck, A stroke of pure, ungodly luck. The golden hour painted the sky, As the miles and the world went rolling by.
