~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This video introduces you to Mr. Sogo Ito, a member of Super*Dragon, a Jpop group. Sogo was born to Japanese parents in Chiba Prefecture. He was scouted on Takeshita Street, Shibuya, Tokyo and joined EBiDAN while in the fifth grade of elementary school. He made his debut as a member of SUPER★DRAGON in Sept 2015. Sogo has also been active as a TV personality, appearing in programs such as Hayashi-sensei no Hatsumimigaku (MBS) in June 2017, where he was featured as a handsome junior high student and train enthusiast. On the 7 Feb 2020, broadcast of Tamori Club (TV Asahi), Sogo was recognized as a full member (Gold rank) of the "Tamori Train Club." In March 2021, he launched his official YouTube channel, "Sogo Ito's Railway Channel."
Sogo is a railway enthusiast spanning a wide range of sub-genres, including riding trains (*noritetsu*), photographing trains (*toritetsu*), studying timetables (*jikokuhyotetsu*), and imagining hypothetical railway scenarios (*mousoutetsu*). He has been a railway fan since he was old enough to remember; he cites going to Tokyo Station to pick up his father—who traveled frequently for work—as the catalyst for his interest. His grandfather was a former employee of the Japanese National Railways (JNR), and he inherited his grandfather's uniform cap. His favorite railway line is the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. He has a particular fondness for the sound of train brakes releasing.
It has become a standard practice for him to perform train-style in-car announcements during self-introductions at events and on TV programs. He can recite announcements used in various regions, including Osaka, Nagoya, Hakata, and Sapporo. There is an anecdote from an event where the schedule ran late; even after checking transit apps, staff concluded it was impossible to make it to his next engagement on time. Ito proposed a unique route not suggested by the apps, and by taking that route, he managed to arrive on schedule.
For the music video of the SUPER★DRAGON song "Ame Nochi Hare" (Rain Then Shine), Sogo requested that filming take place on a Keikyu Corporation "deadhead" (out-of-service) train, and he appeared in the video as a solo performer. He operates a fictional railway called "Soto Kosoku Tetsudo" (Soto High-Speed Railway) and has a habit of collecting pocket-sized timetables.
Since Nov 2021, Sogo has been reporting his monthly train travel distance and fare costs on "Sogo Ito's Railway Channel." The average distance is 3,536 km, and the average cost is 96,654 yen (as of Feb 2022).
Sogo has been taking piano lessons since the age of five, and he is pretty good at it.
Best of luck to his entertainment career.
