THE SUMMIT THAT WAITED FOR US… What happens when the mountain says NO? On 12 August 2026, our team of seven reached the base camp of Mount Elbrus — 5,642 metres, Europe’s highest mountain. But the mountain had other plans. The weather suddenly turned against us. Snow, freezing temperatures, powerful winds and dangerous mountain conditions forced us to cancel our first summit attempt. After coming so far, we had only one choice — retreat. For the next five days, we waited. Five days of uncertainty. Five days of watching the weather. Five days of wondering whether Elbrus would give us another chance. Then came 20 August 2026. We returned to the mountain. This time, there was no turning back. In the darkness of the night, our team began the final push toward the summit. Every step took us higher into the freezing darkness, where the weather could change without warning. And then, at 9:07 AM on 21 August 2026, after the failed attempt, the retreat and five days of waiting… WE STOOD ON THE SUMMIT OF MOUNT ELBRUS. Seven climbers. One mountain. One dream.
