【DTM】W.A.モーツァルト/序曲(交響曲第32番) ト長調,K.318 Programming Music Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Overture(Symphony No.32) in G,K.318 Also used as an opera overture to Bianchi’s La villanella rapita A Symphony That Sounds Like an Overture 🎧 What to Listen For Brilliant, energetic, and surprisingly dramatic for a work lasting only about eight minutes. Completed in Salzburg on April 26, 1779, when Mozart was just 23, Symphony No. 32 in G major, K. 318 is one of his most unusual symphonies. Although catalogued as a symphony, its three continuous sections follow the Italian overture pattern of Fast–Slow–Fast, making it sound remarkably like an overture. What makes K. 318 especially fascinating is the combination of this overture-like design with sophisticated sonata-form techniques, including an unusual “reverse” recapitulation in the final section. 🎻 Instrumentation & Orchestral Color 2 Flutes · 2 Oboes · 2 Bassoons · 4 Horns (2 in G, 2 in D) · 2 Trumpets · Timpani · Strings The four horns give the music an unusually rich and powerful sonority for Mozart’s Salzburg period, while the central Andante provides a delicate contrast through its graceful woodwind writing. 🎵 Structure I. Allegro spiritoso — 4/4, G major A brilliant and energetic opening filled with powerful orchestral tuttis and rhythmic momentum. II. Andante — 3/8, G major A graceful, pastoral-like interlude featuring delicate woodwind dialogue, remaining surprisingly in the home key of G major. III. Primo tempo — 4/4, G major The opening tempo returns, but Mozart reverses the expected order of the thematic return: the second subject appears first, followed by the principal theme in a brilliant, almost fanfare-like conclusion. 📜 Symphony or Overture? For many years, scholars proposed that K. 318 might have been written as an overture to a theatrical work, including Thamos, King of Egypt K. 345 or the unfinished Zaide K. 344. However, manuscript dating and paper research have made these theories difficult to sustain. Today, K. 318 is generally regarded as an independent concert sinfonia, perhaps reflecting Mozart’s experience in Mannheim and Paris. Yet there is an intriguing twist. 🎭 K. 318 as an Opera Overture In 1785, Mozart actually reused K. 318 as an opera overture for Francesco Bianchi’s La villanella rapita at Vienna’s Burgtheater. So although it may not have been originally composed for an opera, K. 318 has a documented history as an actual opera overture. That is why I decided to include this remarkable symphony in my Mozart Complete Overtures collection. In just eight minutes, Mozart combines the dramatic energy of theatrical music with the structural sophistication of a symphony—a compact but astonishingly colorful example of his mature Salzburg style. 【Credits】 Programed by Hummel Note Daw&Sequencer:Dorico 6 Sounds:NotePerformer 5 Thumbnail images are generated by Google AI The score in the video is the playback screen of PC. This is different from the original score. Because I use it as a MIDI data input software and not for typing in sheet music, I place more emphasis on making the dynamics and tempo instructions sound as natural as possible, rather than composing exactly as written. https://note.com/hummelnote https://hummelnote.wixsite.com/hummel... http://hummelnote.doorblog.jp
