Scenic Drive Across the Israeli Desert | Ramat Hovav to Eilat via Roads 40 & 12

A road trip across the Israeli desert, traveling from the industrial edge of Ramat Hovav to the Red Sea resort city of Eilat. This route follows Road 40 south through the Negev Desert, passing vast open plains, ancient craters, and rugged cliffs. Along the way, you’ll encounter landmarks like the Makhtesh Ramon crater, dramatic desert viewpoints, and Bedouin communities. The journey continues on Road 12, skirting the Egyptian border and offering sweeping views of the Eilat Mountains before descending to the turquoise waters of the Red Sea.
