http://www.hubertharry.com Hubert Harry, pianist (1927 - 2010) born in Dalton-in-Furness, a child-prodigy, studied in Manchester from 1935 to 1946. He continued his studies under Edwin Fischer and Dinu Lipatti in Switzerland, where he was awarded international prizes and began a successful career as a concert pianist. The first BBC Radio 3 broadcast was on 7th February 2003 in a weekday morning programme titled "CD Masters" hosted by Rob Cowan. Rob is an eminent British writer and broadcaster on music and recordings, a regular contributor to specialist journals such as Gramophone and Classic Record Collector, and a regular music critic for The Independent national newspaper. As Rob Cowan mentioned in a letter: "[...] Bach's chorale Ertödt uns durch Dein' Güte and played by Hubert Harry in a way that I can only describe as uplifting.
