A Home That Honors God “𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦, 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋.” — 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗵𝘂𝗮 𝟮𝟰:𝟭𝟱 A home that honors God is not simply a home that looks peaceful from the outside. It is a home where 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, His Word is followed, and every family member chooses to reflect Him through their actions, words, and relationships. The message taught us important principles of a God-honoring home: 𝟭. 𝗣𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 — God should be at the center of our household’s decisions, values, and daily life. As Psalm 127:1 reminds us, 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗻. 𝟮. 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 — Husbands, wives, and children have different roles, but each is called to show love, respect, grace, and humility toward one another. 𝟯. 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 — A God-honoring marriage is built through sacrificial love and genuine respect, following the principles found in Ephesians 5:33. 𝟰. 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 — Children are called to honor and obey their parents, while parents are called to guide their children according to God’s ways. 𝟱. 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 — No family is perfect. A God-honoring home chooses patience, forgiveness, and grace, especially when hurts and misunderstandings arise. The Bible was not given for us to change its message according to our preferences. Instead, 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. When we allow His Word to shape our hearts and our homes, we create a family that reflects His character. A God-honoring home starts with a decision: to put God first and allow Him to be the foundation of the family. Just as Joshua declared, may we also choose to say, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, 𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗗. 𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗕𝗘 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗧 𝗢𝗡 𝗚𝗢𝗗, 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗖𝗘, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘 𝗛𝗜𝗠.
