Steam before the silence | UK Steam Trains in Summer - Steam Ban Special!

Today's video is a fun compilation of some summery shots I've done over the last few years (2024 to 2026) taken between May and September - this is intended as a compilation to show what we're missing out on before hopefully steam returns to the mainline soon! Many of us hoped the Summer of 2025 was the worst of the lot for steam bans, only for 2026 to be even worse! Steam has been almost unanimously banned across the entire national network for over a month due to the fire risk brought on by this extraordinarily dry weather which is reminiscent more of Italy than the UK. Even some of the heritage railways that were previously running steam have ceased to do so and we've just today recorded the hottest day of the year so far! The hope is that from now on, we'll finally get some rain and steam will return, allowing a great set of videos I have planned for Autumn and Winter, but whilst we're all cooped up at home with no steam to go out and see, hopefully this will make the wait feel a little shorter!
