Listen to Moonlight Monk on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/0345HVy... Tonight, let go of the day. In this calm, slow sleep meditation, we follow the life of Paṭācārā — one of the first Buddhist nuns — a woman who lost almost everything and slowly learned not to run from her grief, but to sit beside it until she found peace. Told gently, in the second person, this is a story to fall asleep to. There is nothing to remember and nothing to get right. Just let the words carry you toward rest. Close your eyes. Breathe slowly. You are welcome here — exactly as tired as you are. 🌙 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕯️ What this video is for Falling asleep gently Quieting an overthinking, grieving mind Finding comfort after loss Slow, spoken-word Buddhist sleep stories ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎧 Also on Spotify Moonlight Monk is on Spotify too — link pinned in the comments and in the description below, for the nights you'd rather only listen. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📖 Sources & Further Reading This story is a gentle retelling of the life of the Buddhist elder nun Paṭācārā, drawn from these traditional sources: Therīgāthā ("Verses of the Elder Nuns") — Paṭācārā's own verses, and the verses of "The Thirty under Paṭācārā." Part of the Khuddaka Nikāya, Pāli Canon. Dhammapada, verses 113 and 287–289, and the Dhammapada Commentary (Dhammapada-aṭṭhakathā) — the traditional narrative of her losses and awakening. Aṅguttara Nikāya (Etadagga vagga) — where Paṭācārā is named foremost among the nuns in mastery of the Vinaya (monastic discipline). Note: This is a devotional, dramatized retelling for reflection and rest, not a scholarly translation. Some scenes are gently expanded for a calm listening experience while staying faithful to the traditional accounts. Public-domain translations of these texts can be found through SuttaCentral and Access to Insight. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚠️ This video is intended for relaxation and sleep. Please do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
