Exploring Downtown Victoria, BC Walking Tour [4K] July 29th, 2026

On this mostly cloudy summer day with occasional sunshine, I explore many of the city's most popular streets and landmarks while capturing everyday life as it happens. I begin at the Hotel Grand Pacific fountain before making my way around the busy Inner Harbour, where plenty of tourists are enjoying the waterfront and several nice cars are out cruising the city streets. From there, I head up Government Street to Bastion Square, where a small market is set up, making for a quieter atmosphere than usual. The walk continues past Darcy's Pub and The Local before crossing Wharf Street. I briefly explore Wharf Street before returning via Fort Street and Langley Street, eventually looping back through downtown by way of Yates Street, Government Street, View Street, Douglas Street and Broughton Street. Along the way, you'll also see the long overdue sidewalk upgrades finally underway outside RBC on Douglas Street. To finish the tour, I return to the Inner Harbour, pause to watch the afternoon traffic for a few moments, then continue along the waterfront before ending back at the Hotel Grand Pacific fountain where the walk began.
