40 Hz Binaural Beats in Perfect 5ths | Meditation Music for Clarity

The Meditation Tapes mission is to explore the effects of binaural beats, using music to induce a frequency following response. This response is associated with brainwaves synchronized with the binaural beat frequency. Different binaural beat frequencies are associated with different mental states. So the ultimate goal is to use music to direct your attention to the binaural beat, and use the binaural to achieve a desired mental state. Meditation 5 Target Focus Note: B2 Meditation 5 is meant to be a shorter, 20 minute journey to ascension. This is achieved through several distinct tools, helping focus your attention. Firstly, the primary binaural beat is targeting B2, so the music is set in the key of B, with cadences resolving to the target note. Why B you might ask? B is a 5th from E, so would be a nice key change if listening to these meditations in a playlist. That was the only reasoning... Initially I did not set this binaural beat frequency for the notes targeting B2. Instead, I wanted to align two principles, and derive the binaural beat from that. I wanted the stability and balance of the perfect 5th interval, often associated with the spiritual or divine, to combine with a binaural beat frequency of 40 Hz, which is often associated with mental clarity and spiritual healing. So as the piece progresses, I intended to bring in the 40 Hz binaural beat a 5th above the initial frequencies. More like, I needed the piece to start with frequencies a 5th below the frequencies generating the 40 Hz beat, but at the same time target B2 as their median. With these constraints, I derived the initial B2 targeting frequencies, and derived an addition octave below targeting B1. Fading these 3 binaural beats up and down generated an unexpected beta range pulse. I clocked it at 200 bpm, which corresponds to 3.33 Hz. Interesting… So this time I decided to use a bit of the rhythmic element by including drums at that tempo, and a hypnotic repeating chord progression. That eventually ascends to the 5ths at 40 Hz.
