The extended version of Meditation 9 is about extending a feeling. In particular, this shiver of frisson you get up your spine when that middle section of Meditation 9 hits. The extended version holds you there, anchored to the depths, as the waves flow around you. It feels like the moment you dip into a hot spring, but on a loop for 40 minutes. It lifts you up, and drops you back down into the goosebumps over and over. But it doesn't loop; there is a subtle evolution.   The target focus note is quite different for this meditation tape, as there are literally no out of tune notes for you to bend or collapse with your mind. For this one, you are not meant to resolve two pitches, but feel them at the same time. The focus for this meditation is harmony. There is a half-step at the base of the Major 7th chord across your two ears. A G1 in one and an Ab2 in the other, forming the binaural beat.  Target Focus Note: Ab Major 7 Chord in 3rd inversion. ___ The mission of the Frontier Music Meditation Tapes, is to explore the effects of binaural beats, using music to help induce a frequency following response. This response is associated with brainwaves synchronized with the binaural beat frequency. Different binaural beat frequencies are associated with different mental states. So the ultimate goal is to use music to direct your attention to the binaural beat, and use the binaural to achieve a desired mental state. The interactions are more complicated than that, but where music stands out is its ability to direct, maintain, or enhance an emotional state. This coupled with the binaural beat layers, and the interactions between them, is meant to guide the mind to a target state and hold it there. Please tell me what your experience was like with this track. As this is an experiment, your data is very welcome. I also intend to make more and make them better, so constructive criticism is welcome. frontiermusic.ca/meditate #binauralbeats #thetawaves #ambientmusic #meditationmusic #relaxingmusic #painrelief #healingmusic #healingfrequencies
