AI generated music. Not serious, only for fun. K.B.L. — HELIOS DOWN A missing nuclear warhead takes Wraith and Dolph from Casablanca across North Africa to Rhodes and beneath the Aegean. Gunfights, a ruined boot, an airstrike, and a mystery neither man intends to explain. A proper spy adventure, with just enough ouzo. From Paul's Cyberpunk 2020 / Nightwraith campaign. Lyrics: Kurt Langer and Andrea Santangelo Music, arrangement and production: Andrea Santangelo K.B.L. The orders sent Wraith to Casablanca, to meet a certain man, He found a Norwegian at the bar and grinned, "Play it, Sam." "Do I look like a Sam?" The Norwegian shook his head, "No, you look like a Dolph." That was all Wraith said. The joke was barely over when the questions started flying, Somebody moved a missile, and somebody else was lying. With a trail of whispered deals, they took the eastbound road, Across North Africa, to find who moved that deadly load. Past the last streetlight, the desert stretched for miles, A trail of crooked stories and a thousand practised smiles. The sun climbed like a warning, the trail was running thin, And somewhere in the silence, the real trouble would begin. Helios Down! One lost plane in a sunburnt sky, Two men on the trail to find out why. From the desert heat to the Aegean blue, The farther they went, the stranger it grew. Ask what they saw, they won't make a sound, They'll raise their glass to Helios Down! The camp had terrorised the towns, its gunmen dug in tight, Wraith's Spitfire fired a heartbeat late and shot his foot mid-fight. "My brand-new boot!" Wraith cursed the sand; Dolph laughed and lent a hand, They cleared the camp, then carried on across the ruined land. Past Tripoli's broken skyline, where the heavens struck the ground, Even Dolph went quiet at the horror all around. Some soldiers lay abandoned, far beyond the reach of care, Wraith gave them peace without a word; Dolph felt the coldness there. In Egypt, local voices showed them where the missile flew, They found the empty firing site — and one more lead to pursue. The fixer blurted "Rhodes," then cracked his cyanide tooth, He took his secrets to the grave, but left a shard of truth. One island in the sunlight, one more mystery to crack, The road had turned to water — and there was no turning back. Helios Down! One lost plane in a sunburnt sky, Two men on the trail to find out why. From the desert heat to the Aegean blue, The farther they went, the stranger it grew. Ask what they saw, they won't make a sound, They'll raise their glass to Helios Down! On Rhodes, the smuggler's daughter wore a knowing little grin, A villa, sun and ouzo — let the holiday begin. By day they played at tourists, drinking underneath the sun, By night they mapped the black site, every guard and every gun. They hit the hidden compound, brought the pilot to the light, An airstrike sealed the cover story in a flash of white. Then Dolph traced down the wreckage off another island's shore, The pilot safe, the warhead lost — and trouble still in store. They loaded up with harpoons, checked their tanks and headed down, Into the blue where no one knew what waited to be found. Through the wreckage came the shadows, armed and closing fast, Harpoons cut across the water, silent bolts of death shot past. Steel and bubbles filled the darkness, mini-subs began to dive, Two men fighting in the deep, determined to survive. Then a blinding flash of white, and everything went still, The sea held its secrets — and perhaps it always will. Helios Down! One lost plane in a sunburnt sky, Two men on the trail. Two men on the trail. From the desert heat to the Aegean blue, The farther they went, the stranger it grew. Ask what they saw, they won't make a sound, They'll raise their glass to Helios Down! Helios Down! A flash in the deep and the world turned white, Two men still won't talk about that night. A temple below where no temple should be, A warhead brought up from the floor of the sea. No gods in the report, no answers found, Just a toast to the ouzo and Helios Down!
