Bygone Hemyock: Celebrations & Treats: Photos from the Wides Archive in the Blackdown Archives

Photos from the Wides' family archives. This selection shows some celebrations and treats such as Whit Monday Revels organised by the Rational Association Friendly Society (which provided health and burial assistance before advent of NHS), and Sunday schools' treats where Anglican, Baptist and Wesleyan Sunday schools often combined. This amazing archive containing decades of research, reference books, and photographs was generously donated to the Blackdown Archives by the Wide family. These photos cover times before the advent of mass communications.
