I was bottling up a lot of emotion but wasn’t in a clubby writing headspace at all. It took months to turn it into a functioning dance music version. For the music nerds… the main riff is 3 beats, the drums loop every 4 beats, the bassline every 16 beats, and the chords every 48 beats. Having the lead in 3 makes things repeat in a weird way… it sounded “wrong” at first, but after sitting with it, I started to enjoy the hypnosis.' - Spencer Brown San Francisco based DJ and producer Spencer Brown returns to Anjunadeep with ‘Comeback Kids / Sweat Equity’, a double single that underscores his reputation for hypnotic, floor-filling productions. ‘Comeback Kids’, a standout from the Anjunadeep 16 compilation, provides a driving and melodic progressive energy, while ‘Sweat Equity’ leans into a sun-drenched, Balearic sound. ‘Comeback Kids / Sweat Equity’ is out now on Anjunadeep.
