We spent the day the old way: making fruit mochi together, then celebrating over sushi with the whole family. ─────────────────────── What's in this one 🎂 My little sister finally turned 20 (coming of age in Japan) 🍡 Fruit mochi — with a whole orange inside ⚾ A Koshien souvenir from Dad 🍣 The whole family together at Sushiro ─────────────────────── 🥢 Recipe — Fruit Mochi (Fruit Daifuku) Ingredients: • Shiratamako (glutinous rice flour) • Koshian (smooth sweet bean paste) • Fruit: kiwi, pineapple, orange How to make: 1. Peel the fruit, pat off extra moisture, and wrap each piece gently in anko. 2. Mix shiratamako with water, then microwave until stretchy and chewy. 3. Dust with starch, tear into portions, and wrap the anko-fruit ball inside. 4.
