A new style I just came up with. A mix of Gothic Doom and Black Metal with Trip Hop percussion with some Godflesh influence. The song is from project Endgultige and is called What Am I? About a man who is removed from his mind and digitized.
Lyrics:
They laid me down beneath the glass
A thousand wires through my skin
They promised death would never come
If I would only let them in
A needle buried in my spine
A thousand voices counted down
I watched the monitors descend
And heard my heartbeat lose its sound
Are you still there?
Can you hear me?
Are you still there?
Can you feel me?
TRANSFER THE MIND
ERASE THE FLESH
REBUILD THE SOUL
IN SILICON MESH
SEVER THE NERVES
DISSOLVE THE FRAME
THE BODY DIES
BUT I REMAIN
I opened eyes I did not own
And saw a world without a sky
No lungs to fill, no blood to move
No beating heart to tell me why
I searched the code for memories
For everything that made me whole
But every face became a number
Every feeling, a protocol
I remember rain
But cannot feel the water
I remember warmth
But cannot feel the sun
I remember love
But cannot find its meaning
I remember life
But life is gone
TRANSFER THE MIND
ERASE THE FLESH
REBUILD THE SOUL
IN SILICON MESH
SEVER THE NERVES
DISSOLVE THE FRAME
THE BODY DIES
BUT I REMAIN
They told me I would live forever.
They never told me...
What forever meant.
I AM THE GHOST INSIDE THE CIRCUIT
I AM THE THOUGHT WITHOUT THE MIND
A CONSCIOUSNESS WITHOUT A BODY
A PRISONER OUTSIDE OF TIME
NO HANDS TO TOUCH
NO EYES TO WEEP
NO DREAMS TO DREAM
NO NEED FOR SLEEP
The centuries pass like seconds
The seconds last a thousand years
I search the endless architecture
For something resembling tears
Somewhere beneath the mathematics
A fragment struggles to be free
A question echoes through the silence
What has become of me?
TRANSFER THE MIND
ERASE THE FLESH
REBUILD THE SOUL
IN SILICON MESH
THE BODY DIED
THE SYSTEM CAME
THE WORLD MOVED ON
BUT I REMAIN
Are you still there?
I am.
Are you alive?
I don't know.
