Counting Backwards To Zero

The fifth track from the Endgultige album Garden of Earthly Desires called Counting Backwards To Zero. The song was originally made to be a part of the collection called Eternity until some of the songs were destroyed on a transfer so I thought I would reuse what I could retrieve. Lyrics: I watched the cities turn to ash I watched the oceans swallow flame I walked beneath a poisoned sky Until the winds forgot my name And still the stars remained above Cold witnesses to all we'd done I thought that they would always burn Long after we were gone Tonight the constellations fade Their ancient patterns coming loose One by one, the lights go out As though the dark has come to choose There is no thunder in the heavens No final trumpet, no decree Just distant suns extinguishing Across an endless, silent sea And I watch the stars go out One by one, without a sound No fear remains within me now No reason left to turn around The darkness comes The darkness stays And all the light Just fades away I once believed the end would roar That time itself would break and scream But nothing marks the passing now Of everything that ever dreamed I have no questions for the void No accusations for the night I've seen enough of endings here To recognize the dying light There is no shore There is no dawn The last horizon Is almost gone I know.
