Mahanadi Flood: 100 Feet Embankment Collapses, Over 100 Villages Under Threat | Puri Flood News

Mahanadi flood has created a serious situation in Satyabadi Block of Puri district, Odisha. More than 100 feet of soil from the Gabakunda-Nuanaei embankment has reportedly collapsed, creating panic among villagers. Several villages under Ketakipatna, Mahura, Rayakhandi, Balarampur Gad and Gabakunda Panchayats are facing the threat of being completely submerged. Hundreds of acres of farmland have already been flooded, while water has reached village roads and residential areas. Local residents are staying awake through the night and guarding the vulnerable embankment. They are using sandbags and tarpaulins to protect the weak riverbank. Villagers fear that if the Nuanaei embankment breaches, more than 100 villages could face severe flooding. Residents have alleged that the dangerous situation has been caused by the lack of timely repair and maintenance of the embankment. Questions are also being raised over the response of the Puri Water Resources Department. #MahanadiFlood #PuriFlood #Satyabadi #OdishaFlood #FloodAlert #NuanaeiEmbankment #OdishaNews #PuriNews #FloodNews #Mahanadi #OdishaFloodNews #BreakingNews #OdishaLatestNews News18 Odia is one of Odisha's leading and most trusted Odia news channels, bringing you the latest, fastest, and most reliable news from Odisha, India, and around the world.
