Living in the Philippines can sometimes feel like an experiment in psychological endurance. Like a death by a thousand cuts, the steady accumulation of little frustrations can make everyday life far more exhausting than it needs to be. The noise, endless traffic, long queues and everyday inefficiencies can leave you wondering why simple things have to be so difficult. It's easy to see how these things can begin to pile up and start to take their toll. In this video, I'm looking at why these everyday frustrations can feel so draining, how much of it comes down to cultural expectations, and what it means for anyone considering a move to the Philippines or already trying to make a life here. Does adapting to life somewhere mean you have to pretend everything is fine? Filipinos are often praised for their resilience, but the question is whether we sometimes spend so much time celebrating people's ability to endure difficulties that we forget to ask why they have to endure them in the first place. This is my perspective on what happens when the little things keep adding up, and the difference between choosing patience for your own peace of mind and reaching a point where you stop believing things can change.
