Then Pharaoh changed his mind and chased them with his chariots. The people were very afraid, but Moses said, "Don't be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD" (Exodus 14:13). Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD sent a strong east wind all night. The waters were divided, and the children of Israel walked through the sea on dry ground. When the Egyptians followed, the waters returned. The people saw the great work of the LORD, and they believed in the LORD and in his servant Moses.
