A Daughter of the Muses (Warrior of Words) / Saving the Library of Alexandria

Several years ago, a gentleman friend asked me if I had any "fantasies." Without skipping a beat, I expressed my dream of being a librarian who travels back in time to kick butt and save the great Library of Alexandria. He looked a bit shocked, to say the least. 😳 He then asked if I had any fantasies involving him. Well, duh... he could help me save the scrolls! 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, after that conversation, the writer in me started thinking, and I quickly penned a very long poem where I did exactly that - shattering the constraints of time to fight off a battalion of foes and rescue humanity’s ancient knowledge from the flames. This song, which I absolutely love, is based entirely on that very response to his, umm... innocent question. Looking back at the whole story, I’m beginning to think I may have completely misunderstood the assignment... lol! 🤷‍♀️
