This is the Puckle St/Holmes Rd level crossing in Moonee Ponds, on the Craigieburn line, with footage I took in June 2017. This crossing is quite a complicated intersection, so I'm surprised it wasn't included on the list of crossings for removal.
At the time I filmed it, this crossing had:
Two General Signals E-bells. The bell on the western end is programmed to sound out after the boom gates have lowered. The bell on the eastern end is programmed to sound continuously until the boom gates rise.
McKenzie & Holland cross-arms on the eastern boom gate mechanism, and on the upper set of lights on the individual signal on the south western side of the crossing. The rest of the crossing has Westinghouse cross-arms. The western boom gate mechanism has no lights attached to it
Unmarked McKenzie & Holland lights on the eastern boom gate mechanism, and on the upper section of the individual signal on the south western side of the crossing with the McKenzie & Holland cross-arm, marked Westinghouse lights on the top of the eastern cantilever, the base of the western cantilever and on the lower section of the individual signal on the north eastern side of the crossing, and both one marked and one unmarked Westinghouse lights on the lower section of the individual signal on the south western side of the crossing, the top of the western cantilever (on both sets of lights) and the upper section of the individual signal on the north eastern side of the crossing (geeze, that was even more complicated than Webster St). Both individual signals have unmarked bases
Western Cullen Hayes boom gate mechanisms (which have since been replaced with Siemens boom gate mechanisms, thanks Level Crossing Fan and Train Hunter Junior for that info) with McKenzie & Holland bases.
The western cantilever has, rather unusually, four sets of lights. The only other crossings I know that have this are Glenferrie Rd, Kooyong and Boundary Rd, Faulkner
There is footage on YouTube of Moonee Ponds station from 2002, during a special steam train event. You can hear the Puckle St/Homes Rd level crossing with, what are clearly, Westinghouse Hybrid bells. Google Street view shows that General Signals e-bells replaced these hybrid bells as far back as 2007. The bells sound to be programmed the same way as the E-bells that replaced them. • Steam Train on the Broadmeadows Line - Ess...
