Hudsons Rd level crossing in Spotswood, on the Newport-Footscray corridor of the Werribee/Williamstown Railway Line, with footage I took in January and June 2017, and July 2026. This crossing is currently in the planning process of being grade separated, and is expected to be removed by late 2029 In January and June 2017, this crossing had: Two Westinghouse Hybrid bells. The bell on the western side was programmed to sound continuously until the boom gates rose, while the bell on the eastern side was programmed to sound out once the boom gates have lowered Westinghouse cross-arms A mixture of marked and unmarked Westinghouse lights Westinghouse boom gate mechanisms. The mechanism on the western side had (and still has) a Westinghouse base, while the mechanism on the eastern side had (and still has) a Western Cullen Hayes base Unmarked bases on all individual signals on each corner Black "stop on red signal" signs with white letters By July 2026, the crossing was upgraded to have: Two General Signals E-Bells replacing the Westinghouse Hybrid bells. Both bells are now programmed to sound continuously until the boom gates rise New white "stop on red signal" signs with black letters replacing three of the six black "stop on red signal" signs with white letters
