Dimension X - "And the Moon Be Still as Bright" (Old Time Radio, 1950)

Dimension X presents “And the Moon Be Still as Bright,” episode 26, originally broadcast on September 29, 1950. This NBC science-fiction drama adapts Ray Bradbury’s Martian Chronicles story for radio, with Ernest Kinoy’s adaptation directed by Edward King. A fourth Earth expedition arrives on Mars to find a vast, seemingly deserted Martian city and the lingering beauty of an extinct civilization. As archaeologist Spender, played by Alexander Scourby, responds to the world around him, Captain Wilder (Wendell Holmes) must navigate the conflicting attitudes of the crew toward exploration, preservation, and an unfamiliar planet. Dimension X presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
