No tandoor? No problem! 🔥 Learn how to make soft, fluffy and delicious garlic naan at home using a simple pan. Welcome to Curry Made Simple, a new series from Quick Indian Kitchen where we make authentic Indian favourites simple to cook at home. In this episode, we're making restaurant-style garlic naan without a tandoor. The naan is soft and fluffy inside, beautifully charred on the outside, then finished with plenty of garlic butter and fresh coriander. And the best part? You can make it on your stovetop with a regular pan. Perfect alongside butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, dal makhani or your favourite Indian curry. 🍛 🛒 Ingredients For the Naan — Makes 6 300g plain/all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp baking soda 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp salt 120g Greek yogurt 1 tbsp neutral oil 120–150ml warm water For the Garlic Butter 40g butter, melted 3–4 garlic cloves, finely minced 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped 👨‍🍳 Method Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt. Add the yogurt and oil. Gradually add warm water and form a soft dough. Knead for around 5 minutes. Cover and rest for at least 1 hour. Divide the dough into 6 portions and shape into naan. Heat a heavy pan until very hot. Cook the naan in the dry pan until bubbles form and the surface develops beautiful charred spots. Flip and cook the other side. Brush immediately with garlic butter and finish with fresh coriander. 🔥 The Secret The key to getting those beautiful bubbles and charred spots without a tandoor is a properly heated pan. Don't be afraid of high heat — you want the pan hot enough for the naan to cook quickly and develop that delicious restaurant-style char. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 No tandoor?
