What are our learners trying to tell us? Listening beyond behaviour with curiosity and compassion
A learner who withdraws, becomes restless or refuses to join in may be communicating something they cannot yet put into words. In this interactive workshop, we will pause and look beyond the behaviour we see. Through short classroom scenarios, mindful reflection and psychodrama-inspired activities, participants will step into learners’ shoes and explore how emotions can affect attention, participation and learning. We will also consider our own reactions, self-regulation and compassionate boundaries. Participants will leave with a simple four-step framework: notice what we see, wonder what it may communicate, consider what the learner needs and choose how to respond.
