PLAYA DE LAS AMÉRICAS to LOS CRISTIANOS 🇪🇸 A relaxing 4K walking tour through the liveliest resort in the south of Tenerife, from the black volcanic seafront all the way to the beach of Las Vistas in Los Cristianos. Real ambient sounds, no talking: just the walk, the sea and the atmosphere. Playa de las Américas is one of the most famous names in Tenerife. It's hard to believe that in the 1960s this stretch of coast was almost empty. The resort was built practically from scratch, a few kilometres from the old fishing village of Los Cristianos, and today it's one of the busiest holiday destinations in the Canary Islands. We start on the seafront promenade, where the coastline is dark, rocky and volcanic, a reminder that Tenerife was literally born from volcanoes. The Atlantic crashes against the rocks and fills small natural pools, while palm trees, beach clubs and even a spa line the promenade. Then the shopping begins. Surf brands, souvenir shops, leather bags, sunglasses, inflatable flamingos... and a life-size cow standing at a shop door (don't ask me why 🐄). We walk past Parque Santiago and into Parque Santiago III, a shopping centre that feels like a small town inside the town: cafés, bars, a game zone and, hidden behind the shops, a surprising world of turquoise swimming pools and palm trees. Back by the ocean, we reach Playa de Troya, a beach protected by breakwaters where the water is calmer, perfect for families and a bit of bodyboarding. Quiet gardens and white apartment complexes then lead us to the main avenue, the giant guitar of the Hard Rock Cafe Tenerife, the elegant Safari shopping centre with its luxury boutiques, and Americas Plaza, where flags from all over Europe remind you just how international this place is. After the Oasis shopping centre (I officially lost count of the shopping centres 😂), something changes almost without noticing: we leave Playa de las Américas behind and step into Los Cristianos. No passport needed! We pass Vistasur and finally arrive at the busy promenade of Playa de Las Vistas, where families, walkers and street sellers enjoy the sea. 🌼 THE BLOM SIDE OF THIS WALK Palm trees, soft sand and the sound of the waves. Turquoise pools hidden between the buildings. People from all over the world sharing the same promenade. And the simple pleasure of walking without looking at the clock. Sometimes happiness really doesn't need to be complicated. 🌧️ THE BLAUM SIDE OF THIS WALK A grey sky that kept the sun hidden all afternoon, closed shutters, traffic on the avenues, quite a lot of concrete... and legs that started to file an official complaint after hours of walking.
