A look at Conway Scenic Railroad's Mountaineer train during this years outstanding foliage display in New Hampshire's White Mountains. During Autumn the Mountaineer is one of the most popular train rides in the country to view fall foliage, offering spectacular views of a portion of the Saco River Valley, Crawford Notch, and the surrounding White Mountains all the way from North Conway to Bretton Woods. With demand for seats aboard the Mountaineer higher this year than ever before, Conway Scenic opted to run an extra train during peak foliage with a train departing North Conway at 9AM, and a again at 1:30PM. As an added bonus the trains would be powered by all three Maine Central painted engines, making the peak trains the first time they've all ran together. Here you'll see footage from my day out chasing both runs up and down the mountain, with the highlights being shots from Crawford Notch, Frankenstein Trestle, MEC Bartlett Roundhouse, up grade at Intervale, Willey Brook Trestle, and Crawford Notch Depot. Enjoy!
