Making Fantasies Come True: One Story at a Time… I am supposed to be at 25K by the end of this week. I am currently at 18K. So, I have some work to do.
We are on Week 6 of my 160-Day Challenge, and I am behind on word count. I started this challenge ahead, but since I take the weekends off and since I took the week of my birthday practically off, I have just been falling more and more behind. And because I am behind, I am setting these word count goals to write 7K words in five days. Which I am going to have to do again. So here is to Week 6 and attempting to write 7K words in five days… God, give me strength.
Monday Goal 1400 words… I started Monday morning with a mission to do 3 hours of work, but my dad needed my help to load some scrap metal onto his truck, so that ate into my 3-hour goal. But once I got back to my writing, I was able to finish Chapter 3’s edit/read though. I added 797 words, but that was all the writing I did for the day because I went to my local mission again. And I bought 4 more books: May B. by Caroline Starr Rose, Swindle by Gordon Korman, The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani, and The Red Hat Club by Haywood Smith. I need to stop getting books for a little while because I have a long list of books to read. End Word Count: 797/1400
Tuesday Goal 1550 words… I started the morning writing for 2 hours and added 1776 words to the document. I then had to go into town to get some things for religion class and once I got home, I needed to record Thursday’s video, so that should already be up by the time you see this. It is a monthly wrap up for September, where I have a new outlook on life because I am 26 now. End Word Count: 1776/1550
Wednesday Goal 1480 words… So today was another day where I ended up deleting words instead of adding words. Luckily, I only got rid of 400 words, but I still hate deleting words. On a happier note, I finished Chapter 4, which made me cry, but that isn’t really a shocker anymore. I also finished reading Captain Superlative and I absolutely love this book. I will do a book chat on it eventually but if you want to read a book that shows us it is okay to be happy in terrible situations and to always look for the light. End Word Count: -427/1480
Thursday Goal 2220 words… HA! What a funny idea to think I could write that many words, especially since I ended up feeling like poop. So, instead of writing, I read a little and finished another book: Perfectly Yourself by Matthew Kelly. This was a really great book helping me to change my life a little which I guess is why today I for my monthly wrap up that I wanted to make progress in life. Jokes on me, today was a bust. End Word Count: 0/2220
Friday Goal 1930 words… I decided to scrap the 7K words and now I am just shooting for the 4.5K, my weekly goal is. I started the morning rereading Chapter 4 and then moved on to Chapter 5, but the words weren’t really happening. I was able to manage some words, but it was a struggle. End Word Count: 1104/1930
I would like to say this week was a complete failure, but I can’t fully agree with that statement. I was able to finish reading two amazing books. I will be doing two Sunday videos talking about these books. One will come out this Sunday and then next the following. And if I read any more books from that point, I will try to add it in. I told myself that I wasn’t going to push as hard on recording videos… but less than a week from that decision I have 6 videos scheduled. This is ridiculous.
Anyways, this week, I broke through the 20K word mark on my YA Christian Fiction Novel. I have also finished writing 2 chapters and I am in the present timeline. I am a little scared of how this reading experience will be, but I will figure that all out later. I just need to write the book. Another thing that happened this week was I had a manic episode where I was so worried about everything that could possibly go wrong. So yeah, mental health. But really that is all I have to say, I will see you guys, in the next video and remember to keep making fantasies come true one story at a time and I will see you next time… bye.
