Nearly Robbed at a Motorway Stop in Spain… But I Refuse to Live in Fear! | Solo Van Life

My journey into Spain took an unsettling turn when a suspicious encounter at a motorway picnic stop left me convinced someone was trying to distract me to rob the van. Thankfully, I trusted my gut, locked the doors and stayed alert—with Leo beside me. ❤️ But I wasn’t about to let that experience decide how the rest of my adventure would go. I carried on to Peñíscola, where a beachside park-up, sunshine, sea air and walks around the castle helped me find my feet again. A chance to breathe, recentre myself and remember why I chose this life. Travelling solo doesn’t mean I never feel unsettled. I’ll learn from what happened and keep my wits about me, but I refuse to live in fear or let a couple of strangers take away my joy.
