Surah Aal-e-Imran Ayat 7–12 | Clear & Ambiguous Verses, Guidance and Accountability

In Surah Aal-e-Imran, Ayat 7–12, Allah ﷻ teaches us important lessons about understanding His revelation, remaining firm upon guidance, and remembering our ultimate return to Him. These verses explain that the Qur’an contains clear and foundational verses (Muhkamat) as well as verses whose meanings may not be immediately clear (Mutashabihat). Those whose hearts are inclined toward deviation pursue the ambiguous seeking confusion, while people firmly grounded in knowledge respond with humility and faith. A beautiful du'a follows: “Our Lord! Do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us Your mercy.
