Bibbulmun Track - day 50

Day 50 - Frankland River to Walpole September 22, 2025 Out of camp at 06:10. Lovely hike through the forest, some of it parallel to the Frankland, with giant tingle trees and Karri Sheoaks dotted throughout. We passed a touristy decking walk which showcased some of the impressive tingle trees including the red tingle which has the largest circumference of any tree in Australia at 22.3 m. Stopped by the hilltop lookout with views of the ocean / inlet, then descended slowly towards the water with the vegetation changing to become more coastal. Coalmine beach was beautiful, and there were more views of the inlet as we got close to town. Had a great lunch at the BP, which mysteriously has great vegan options. I had the vegan (chik'n) souvlaki with a bowl of chips and a coffee. Checked in at the hotel (which was cheap at $50 per bed for the three of us), then checked out the IGA. Got the resupply done, showered etc. and ended up having the "vegetable stack" at the hotel, which was surprisingly good - proper house made lentil patties / rissoles and hand cut fries were delish.
