WHEN WARRIORS FALL
You’re Not Done
Inspired by Micah 7:8
“When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”
“When Warriors Fall” is for the warrior who trained to stand, entered the battle, and then found himself wounded.
Some wounds come in battle.
Some come from those you called friends.
And some you cannot explain.
Sometimes the one who stood beside the wounded becomes the wounded one.
You may wonder:
“Is this where my fight ends?”
Abraham failed.
Moses fled.
David sinned.
Elijah wanted to die.
Jonah ran from God.
Peter denied the One he served.
Paul fought against God.
But God.
God did not leave them where they fell.
He called them again.
Strengthened them again.
Restored them again.
Your failure does not get the final word.
Your wounds do not get the final word.
Your fear does not get the final word.
God does.
You are never alone.
In this moment...
God is here.
Fallen warrior...
Get up.
You’re not done.
Fight the good fight again.
LYRICS
Fallen warrior...
Look at me.
Get up.
Get up...
and fight the good fight again.
I see your sword
on the ground.
Your shield
fallen beside you.
Your helmet is gone.
I see your wounds.
I see the deep wounds
no one else can see.
I see your pain.
And so does the Lord.
I know you're tired.
I know you're trembling.
I know you don't know
if you can stand again.
But hear me...
God has not abandoned you.
You are never alone.
In this moment...
God is here.
You trained to stand
when fear said run.
You learned to hold
the Word of God.
You stood beside
the wounded ones.
You would not
leave them alone.
But battles leave wounds.
Warriors can bleed.
And sometimes the one
who stood beside the wounded...
becomes
the wounded one.
Some wounds
came in battle.
Some came
from those
you called friends.
And some...
you cannot explain.
Some wounds
everyone can see.
Others run so deep
you've never found
the words.
But God knows.
Every wound.
Every tear.
You are never alone.
In this moment...
God is here.
Maybe you're thinking...
“I'm finished.”
I failed too badly.
I fell too far.
I've disappointed God
too many times.
Maybe this...
is where my fight ends.
Fallen warrior...
remember the men of God
who fell before you.
Abraham...
failed to protect his wife.
Moses...
fled into the wilderness.
David...
committed terrible sins.
Elijah...
wanted to die.
Jonah...
ran from God.
Peter...
denied the One
he served.
Paul...
fought against God.
They could have believed...
“This is where
my fight ends.”
But God...
But God
did not leave them
where they fell.
Abraham
walked forward in faith.
Moses
came back from the wilderness.
David
repented.
Elijah
rose from beneath that tree.
Jonah
went where God sent him.
Peter
was restored.
Paul
served the Christ
he once opposed.
They fell...
But God.
They failed...
But God.
They thought
they were finished...
But God.
He called them again.
Strengthened them again.
Restored them again.
They stood again.
They put on the armor again.
They fought again.
Fallen warrior...
Neither is your fall
the end.
Get up.
Get up...
You're not done.
Lift your shield.
Take up the sword.
Put on the armor again.
Stand again.
Fight again.
Fight the good fight again.
Look at me.
I have fallen too.
I know what it is
to look at the ground
and wonder...
“Can I ever stand again?”
But falling
does not mean
you stay down.
Being wounded
does not mean
God has walked away.
Your failure
does not get
the final word.
Your wounds
do not get
the final word.
The ones who hurt you
do not get
the final word.
Your fear
does not get
the final word.
God does.
The God who heals...
The God who cares...
The God who saw
every wound...
every tear...
every betrayal...
He has not
abandoned you.
He is here.
Right now.
Fallen warrior...
Get up.
Get up...
You're not done.
Stand upon
the Word of God.
Stand wounded.
Stand trembling.
Stand knowing
you are not alone.
Not because
you are strong enough.
But because
the God who called you...
the God who sees you...
the God who cares for you...
is with you now.
You thought
your fight was over...
But God.
You thought
you were alone...
But God
is here.
Fallen warrior...
Get up.
You're not done.
Get up...
and fight
the good fight again.
You are never alone.
In this moment...
God is here.
