EP Desk, Pasighat, September 16, 2026: The All Bogong Students’ Union (ABSU) on Wednesday organised a reception at the Welcome Gate in Pasighat to honour Tabit Gao following his electing as Deputy Speaker of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) for the 2026–2029 session. The reception, held at 4 PM under the leadership of ABSU President Ojing Doruk, General Secretary Kanan Rukbo and Information and Public Relations Secretary Irgang Padun, was attended by student leaders and community representatives from the Adi community and East Siang district. Speaking on the occasion, Onong Perme, General Secretary of the Bogong Banggo Kebang, thanked AAPSU and appreciated the opportunity given to Tabit Gao. He said the occasion was significant not only for East Siang but for the entire Adi belt, as the representation of one of its young leaders at the apex student body would give greater recognition to the region. Tani Tapo, President of the Adi Students’ Union (AdiSU), described the occasion as a memorable day for the Adi community. He welcomed Tabit Gao to his home district and thanked AAPSU President Meje Taku for giving him the opportunity to serve as Deputy Speaker. Tapo also expressed confidence in Gao’s ability to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to him. John Tabing, General Secretary of the East Siang District Students’ Union, conveyed his best wishes to Gao and wished him success in his future responsibilities. ABSU President Ojing Doruk congratulated Tabit Gao on behalf of the union and student organisations across the Adi and East Siang region. Recalling Gao’s earlier involvement in student organisations, Doruk said he had served as President of the All Bogong Students’ Union and had also worked in the East Siang District Students’ Union, besides contesting in the Adi Students’ Union. Doruk also thanked AAPSU President Meje Taku for choosing a leader from the eastern belt and expressed hope that Gao would work towards addressing issues concerning Adi students and the wider student community. The speakers expressed confidence that Gao’s representation in the AAPSU executive body for the 2026–2029 term would provide an opportunity to raise issues related to student welfare, education, infrastructure and youth concerns at the state level. Student and community leaders also assured their continued cooperation and support. Responding to the reception, Tabit Gao thanked the ABSU, community elders, student leaders and the student fraternity for the warm welcome and support. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the student community and working sincerely for the interests of students across Arunachal Pradesh. The reception concluded with greetings and congratulations from the participating student and community organisations, marking Gao’s new responsibility at the state-level student body.
