The Dee Howard Foundation honors the pioneers, innovators, and leaders whose contributions have shaped San Antonio’s aviation and aerospace legacy while inspiring the next generation of aerospace professionals. The 2026 San Antonio Aviation & Aerospace Hall of Fame Luncheon marks the 10th anniversary of this community tradition, bringing together industry, education, and community leaders while supporting Dee Howard Foundation programs that connect students and educators with aerospace careers and industry. Aerospace Industry Impact Award – Mark Huffstutler The 2026 Aerospace Industry Impact Award honors Mark Huffstutler for his entrepreneurial leadership and lasting contributions to aviation innovation in San Antonio and beyond. From earning his pilot’s license at age 16 to building a portfolio of globally recognized aerospace companies, Huffstutler’s career has been defined by innovation, technical expertise, and an entrepreneurial drive to advance aviation. He built his first business, the Uvalde Flight Center, before expanding through the acquisition and integration of multiple aviation enterprises. Through Sierra Industries, SkyWay Group, and FlighTime Business Jets, Huffstutler has developed more than 300 proprietary aircraft modifications, advanced business aviation services, and helped establish critical infrastructure supporting general aviation growth in South Texas. With more than 19,000 flight hours and certifications spanning pilot, instructor, mechanic, and engineer, his impact reaches across nearly every facet of the industry. Over more than four decades, Huffstutler has also helped strengthen San Antonio’s aviation ecosystem while creating hands-on opportunities for aspiring pilots, engineers, and aviation professionals. His legacy reflects a commitment to innovation, service, and making aviation more accessible and impactful for the community and the generations that will follow.
