The Horrific Murder of Karen Pannell | Homicide: Hours To Kill

Along with three letters written in blood, Karen Pannell's lifeless body is discovered in the kitchen of her home. At first, the message leads investigators to the victim's ex-boyfriend. But it's a pizza delivery that ultimately anchors the timeline. When 39-year-old Karen Pannell is found stabbed 16 times in her Oldsmar, Florida home, investigators are confronted with a chilling clue at the crime scene: three letters written in blood on a door. As detectives race to reconstruct her final 24 hours, the message points them toward a violent ex-boyfriend with a documented history of domestic trouble — but forensic science soon reveals a far more calculated deception at play. As the investigation unfolds, detectives uncover a web of secret relationships, hidden criminal pasts, and a mysterious pizza delivery that becomes the key to unraveling the truth. It's a combination of blood spatter analysis, cell tower data, and a single fingerprint that finally exposes who was really responsible for Karen's brutal murder — and just how far they were willing to go to cover their tracks. This episode follows the detectives and forensic specialists who worked to bring justice to a woman whose killer tried to frame an innocent man.
