Albert a local Fisherman Speaks Out: “Panchayat Failed Us, Ministers Must Act Now” – Morjim Crisis

Morjim turtle beach is a protected nesting site, yet the river connected to it keeps dumping huge amounts of trash – wood, restaurant waste, temple offerings and more. Local fisherman Albert Fernandes reveals the harsh reality: nets get clogged, high tide pushes all the garbage onto the shore at the delta point, and the cleaning team is simply not enough. Despite repeated complaints, the Panchayat has failed to act. He is now urging the Tourism Minister and Forest Minister to step in and increase the number of local cleaning staff. This is the ground reality of a protected beach that is being choked by pollution.
