Canada has a reputation for being young. But beneath its surface lies a landscape that has been changing for billions of years.
In this video, we count down 12 ancient places in Canada that still raise real questions: cedars over 1,000 years old clinging to cliff edges, sacred Indigenous carvings, a 2,000-year-old earth serpent, the only confirmed Viking settlement in North America, 13,000-year-old footprints on a Pacific beach, a crater lake that is only half natural, and rocks around 4 billion years old.
We start with the youngest and work our way back through deep time.
💬 Have you visited any of these places? Do you know another ancient place in Canada that belongs on this list? Tell me in the comments, and I'll look into it for the next video.
