Pioneer Creek MTB Trail | Red River NM

Pioneer Creek Trail starts just west of the Red River ski lift. Follow the signs for Forest Service Road 485 Pioneer Creek. The entire trail is about a 2 or 3 mile climb up a multi-use road passing several old mines. The trail is steep, rough, and rocky in places. At the time of this ride, the trail was closed by a gate about 1.5 miles from the entry sign. I turned around after the first water crossing about a ¼ mile from the gate.
